RULES & IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Participants must be fit and capable of participating, this evaluation is entirely at your own discretion if over 16, or at the parents discretion if under 16.
  • Any tricks, or action to use any ramps on your chosen vehicle are entirely at your own risk and should only be done if you are confident and have what you would consider adequate experience.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and other users at all times, do not follow closely behind another rider, as if they are planning a trick on the ramp ahead, there is a high risk that you could be injured by their vehicle.
  • Do not hang your scooter, skateboard or BMX over the coping (scaffold pole at the top of ramps) until you are just about to drop in.
  • Don’t “Snake” = Wait your turn – do not keep going around the room in circles without stopping.
  • Keep your speed to a level that you know you can control.
  • Always look both ways before crossing the skatepark to make sure you are not getting in the way of anyone heading towards you or riding down a ramp
  • Make sure you look around before you go, make sure nobody is coming in your direction and do not cut across the skatepark if you can see people skating in your direction.
  • If you do not know how to identify the lines or ride a skatepark, ask a member of staff before/during riding.
  • Occasional lengthy runs are ok, but generally keep your runs short and sweet, so that everyone can have a turn.
  • Don’t use the bottom of the ramps to learn flat ground tricks, when learning flat ground tricks, make sure you are not in the way of any other skaters.
  • Do not stand or sit on any obstacle that you can see people are using.
  • Do not litter, keep the skatepark clean for all users.
  • Everyone has to start somewhere, so instead of getting angry with other riders who are snaking and getting in your way, politely and kindly point out what they are doing and ask them to stop. Everyone needs to learn sometime.
  • Don’t forget to apologise if you break the rules, an apology helps make you aware and learn from your mistakes.
